Our Process

Thank you for your interest in working with Shady Lane Construction! We’re excited that you’ve chosen us to build your new home or upgrade your existing space. Our process is proven to get your project off the ground as quickly as possible while meeting all your needs and expectations. We’ll be here every step of the way from beginning to completion to make sure you have a full understanding of what’s happening and keep you in the loop. The following is our proven process for delivering you a high quality product you can afford.

Step 1

Discovery + Consultation

The first step in our process is to meet with you in-person to discuss your ideas and understand your timeline and budget. This is the time to bring your photos, floorplans, Pinterest boards and any other wish list ideas you want to incorporate into your dream home. We’ll be offering our own ideas as well as addressing any questions or concerns you may have. Let’s take this opportunity to get to know each other, discuss pricing, and determine if we’re the right fit for you!

Step 2


Once you’ve decided to move forward with us, we will move into our Pre-Construction/Design phase where we dive into your project with our design team and turn your ideas and selections into a preliminary construction budget and drawings/3D renderings to build or remodel your dream home. Upon completion of design we will take the new design through the permit process to secure permits for construction.

Step 3

Transparent Construction

Once we start construction you’ll never have guess at the status of your home: we strive to provide realistic expectations throughout the project. We provide clear and consistent updates on budget, schedule, and progress through a user-friendly app. Alongside quality, clear communication is our top priority. Our internal team meets weekly on the status of your build and more often as required. These meetings help keep you informed of construction progress overall, and allows for regular discussions along the way.

Step 4

Finishing Up

As we get close to finishing up the project, we’ll meet with you 2-3 weeks prior to turnover to address any items that need attention and answer any questions you may have. At this time we’ll discuss our warranty process in the case that any issues arise with your home after we leave. Once settled into your new home, we maintain an open dialogue with scheduled home checks at 3, 6, and 12-month intervals.
